China is not our ally.
They are our Enemy Zero.
According to information recently released by the PEW Research Center, “Americans name China as the country posing the greatest threat to the U.S.” (PEW 7/23)
The evidence is clear. The danger is imminent.
Chinese Investment is an Active Threat to Our Economy
-
Chinese theft of property “costs Americans an estimated $600 billion annually.” (FBI Director Christopher Wray)
Stealing our data and trade secrets is detrimental to American innovation and threatens our ability to remain competitive in the global economy. -
According to USDA data, over the past decade “Chinese ownership of U.S. farmland has increased fivefold.”
This unprecedented acquisition of American farmland, some near U.S. military installations, threatens both the United States’ ability to satisfy its future food demand and its need to maintain the secrecy of strategic military movements and activities.
Chinese Influence in American Colleges and Universities is an Active Threat to Our Future Generations
- Since 2016, China has increased its spending more than 500% in their attempts to influence America. This means more Americans being subjected to Chinese propaganda, more attempts to influence our elections, and more Chinese proliferation into our everyday life and society.
Chinese Production of Fentanyl and Their Hand in its Trafficking Across the U.S. Border is an Active Threat to Our Safety
-
China is producing and distributing harmful substances from Mexico by exploiting the U.S. border crisis.
The Chinese government knows exactly what they are doing by involving cartels and smugglers from a third-party in their efforts to flood American streets with fentanyl, the number #1 killer for young and middle-aged Americans according to the CDC.
So many companies and economies are still facing the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine. After Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, American companies were left holding the bag on their investments in Russia. Many of these companies cannot survive the loss of Chinese investments, too. But we cannot depend on China as a trading partner or for vital resources because China cannot be trusted to play by the rules.
It is just a matter of time, not a question of “What if” when it comes to the Chinese threat to our economy. We need to make sure that our economy can survive if we lose economic partnerships with China.
